Exhibitions & Projects > EMANATIONS Nyisztor Studio July August 2025

My practice explores the materiality of painting, documenting processes that yield both object and image. This exhibition charts my ongoing interest in the interplay of light, color, and surface. The phenomenon of light emanating through color is explored in various ways, from the reflective surfaces of spray-painted aluminum panels with their circular elements, to more direct engagements with the gallery space in works like Colour Clock and Framework. Ways To Silence 1-8, draws attention towards the surface and its contrast with the simple linear structure embedded underneath the thickly applied oil paint. This exhibition is complemented by earlier works on paper which explore circular elements (Circles and Arcs) and the suggestion of architectural space emerging from complex fields (By the Window 1 and 2).

Many thanks to Mary, Max and family for their support and Ron for his friendship and assistance.
